The study of ship evacuation simulation is little in domestic. This condition limits the development of designing large ships with numerous passengers. This dissertation is based on the research results of the evacuation simulation combined with the MSC/Circ.1033 of IMO and focusing on the establishment of evacuation models and the application of ships general arrangement plans. The major works are as following:1. Analyzing the developments in the evacuation simulation field, briefly introducing some mature foreign software for ships'evacuation simulation. More than 30 types of evacuation models have been categorized and compared to each other. The evacuation model space and personnel modeling method are investigated.2. Based on the careful analysis of the MSC/Circ.1033, the personnel evacuation of a large ship has been calculated and analyzed.Whether the ship's evacuation time at the specified evacuation route satisfy the code is checked. And the congestion area of the evacuation route is established.3. On the basis of the study of personnel evacuation model, by using the MSC/Circ.1033, the personnel evacuation model which suitable for large ships is investigated. The model of sub-space network flow which is based on cellular automaton is proposed. In this model, ships are made up of different security levels of sub-space network; and persons transfer from low level to high level. In the internal of the sub-space, the cellular automaton model is apllied for the simulation of personnel evacuation.4. The program modular of personnel evacuation simulation three- dimensional model is written by VC++. Functions of importing the DXF formatted file of ships'general arrangement plans, the treatment of geometry data, and the identification of sub-space is formed. The methods of modeling ships and perosons are established.
