With the promulgation of series of vehicle safety regulations, more attention has been paid to the study on vehicle safety, especially vehicle passive safety. Vehicle crash testing equipments are the key to the study on vehicle passive safety. The stationarity and the reliability of the testing equipment have immediate influence on the consequence of crash testing. According to these requirements, a study has been conducted on vehicle crash testing equipment for indoor crash testing.An innovative spring energy-storing testing equipment has been designed by contrasting the existent crash testing equipment. Springs has been used as the power device in vehicle acceleration. According to the crash regulations, the study has been conducted as follows.Firstly, based on the analysis of the working principle and testing methods of the launching vehicle crash testing equipment, the structural scheme design of the testing equipment has been completed. The launching device, the power transmission device and the detaching device have been designed as emphasis.Secondly, according to the motion and contaction status of the moving parts and the load bearing parts, kinematic and dynamic simulations have been conducted and the graphs of the kinematic and dynamic parameter have been acquired. The influence of the operational state of the testing equipment has been attained by the analysis of the displacement, velocity and acceleration of the moving parts and the contact force of the contaction parts.Finally, structure finite element analysis of the key load bearing parts has been conducted according to the maximum load, and the stress and deformation status of the key parts has been obtained. The safety of strength and the rigidity of the testing equipment have been confirmed, and the structure improvement and a new finite element analysis have been carried out to the dissatisfied parts.
