As lagre energy consumers,motors and motor systems utilize at least half of the electricity generated accounting. Now, the average effieiency of small and medium AC motors in China is 3-5% lower than the minimal efficiency motor standards in the developed country at least. The potential saving of electricity from motors and motor systems in China is about 15000 MW per year at least. So improving the efficiency of electric motors, replacing now-using common motors by High Efficiency Motors can not omly saving energy, but also reduce the operating costs.The efficiency value is the most important-parameter to distinguish a high efficiency motor, so the efficiency testing method and equipment for high effieiency motors are much more complex and strict than common motors.Through the requiest of motor test, this paper has discussed the main parameters about motors, and also designed the data collocting units. From the actually work request, we built a system main frame based on MSP430, DSP is usd as data process unit.At last we creat a motor test system which include data collaction unit, data process unit, microcontroller unit and PC monitor system.The design Philosophy of Non-invasive has been introduced in motors monitoring system, in which used air-gap torque to measure efficiency. Zoom-FFT is required for the testing of speed which very few assumed values are required.An efficient implementation of co sine modulated FIR analysis synthesis filter banks is derived.The structures for the analysis and synthesis sections consist of polyphase structure and discrete sine and cosine transform networks.The redundance of computation is removed and the computational efficiency is raised.The implementation structure is simpler.Furthermore,we provide the experience in this paper. The experiment results accord to the High Effieieney Motors testing criterion, and show that this method is easy-using, and it is valuable for application.
