In this paper, the tower of a domestic wind turbine is taken as the study object, whose finite element model (FEM) is established and then analyzed through FEM analysis software ANSYS:1)Discuss the establishment of FEM; analyze the static strength of the integral tower under sixteen working conditions and also discuss the result, which shows the tower can meet the strength requirements.2)Analyze the portal segment of tower under sixteen working conditions. It shows that the portal segment cannot meet the strength requirement under certain working conditions. Thus it is suggested to take some measures to reinforce the doorway to meet the strength requirement.3)Analyze the strength of mounting flange. The result shows it can meet the strength requirement under all the sixteen working conditions. The coupling flange stress is maximum around the bolt hole and taking it as the centre, the stress reduces gradually to the edge.4)Make model analysis of the tower, taking thorough consideration and test of the factors in analysis. It is indicated that tower and impeller does not resonate.5)In order to detect whether the structure of the tower can meet the stability requirement under different loads, a test is made to analyze the stability of the tower. The result shows that the tower is never unstable. The paper lays the referable data foundation for the analysis and design of the load-bearing components of large-scale wind turbine and further expands the finite element method in the application of wind turbine generators.
