Research On Energy Saving & Emission Reduction On The Yard Cranes Of The Container Terminal

Current domestic container terminal yard handling equipments are mainly rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTG) and Rail Mounted Gantry Crane (RMG) two kinds. RTG accounts for 90% of the two kinds of yard handling equipment. RTG and RMG are one of the main fuel or power equipment in the container terminals. In particular, large conventional RTG fuel, operation and maintenance costs are high, such as carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide exhaust and noise emissions larger. With the reduction of domestic energy-saving work of the ongoing and deepening, while the container terminals in response to the global financial crisis, reduce operating costs and improve core competitiveness of terminals and maintain sustainable development, container terminals must be energy-saving emission reduction work as terminal development of the one of the strategies to meet national mandatory policy requirements, to build the environment-friendly port goals. Therefore, the study and promotion of container terminals, one of the major energy-consuming equipment RTG or RMG's energy-saving technology, is the far-reaching significance.This paper analyzes the status of container yard handling equipment, the domestic application of the various container terminals and effect of energy-saving emission reduction technologies. In introducing the routine of the main features of RTG and RMG, based on studies at home and abroad mainly in RTG's energy-saving technologies. Introduced the ECO-RTG, TM GE RTG, HYBRID RTG, ZPMC green RTG, VYCON's flywheel energy storage, E-ONG RTG, lithium battery technology, two hybrid technology diesel generators, CT RIS GA energy-saving technology, low electricity frame sliding contact line, electricity overhead conductor wire and cable reel RTG and other energy-saving technology, the principles, characteristics, effects.Also analyzed the energy-saving technologies on the RMG.Subsequently, the introduction of the Dalian Port Container Terminal of the energy-saving emission reduction programs were selected to electricity cable reel, TM GE RTG technology and bulk purchase of RMG program. Concluded the existing yard of each container terminal cargo handling equipments, energy saving and new energy-saving emission reduction purchase program should be preferred, as well as the future container terminal yard handling equipment, energy-saving emission reduction research prospects.
