Hybrid vehicle has the good economic performance and emission behavior by the good collaboration of each component of the hybrid vehicle. Hybrid vehicle control unit (HCU) is the control center of the vehicle which communicates with engine, the motor, the battery, transmission controller and so on. By the HCU the energy can be distributed reasonably and the vehicle can be run in a certain mode so as to improve vehicle efficiency and the emission performance. HCU is a decisive factor in hybrid vehicle design, while control strategy is the key point to HCU. Actually the strategy is the control algorithm that to achieve vehicle energy management and power system control. The thesis involved project has two parts. Firstly, used MATLAB to establish two control strategies which are rules-based logic threshold control strategy and fuzzy logic based intelligent control strategy. Furthermore the project established ISG hybrid vehicle model by AMESim, and had co-simulation with hybrid vehicle mode and control strategies. Preliminary simulation results verify the control strategy is effective and reasonable. Secondly, the project integrated rules-based logic threshold control strategy into the hardware in the loop test platform-LabCar. The test results show that the strategy can distribute torque reasonably, and make the engine to work in high efficiency area, while the ISG motor play a supporting role. The results also show that the vehicle recovers the braking energy and eliminate completely idle condition which make the ISG hybrid vehicle greatly improved emission and fuel consumption.
