Memory Continuity Of The City: Studies On Industrial Sites Landscape Design In Railway Southern Station Of Changsha

With the rapid development of urbanization, industrial sites has become the loss memory of a city, because of neglecting the history of the industrial development, letting the characteristics of the industrial development disappear day by day as the industry making transformation or moving outside. Reconstruction and reused of industrial site is an important subject, including how to utilize the way of landscape design, keep urban industry's culture characteristic, and recognize industry's value construction again.First of all, by analyzing some correlative concepts, concepts of industrial sites are defined in this dissertation, the author considered that the industrial sites includes two stages of signification, one is the industrial heritage belonging to historical & cultural resources, another is brownfield belonging to land resources. The author puts forward that landscape design about industrial sites is using the avenues of landscape design to preservation and reform on inactive and desert industrial space which has the value of historical,social,technological,architecture,aesthetic enlightenment and scientific research. The main content of the space includes seven landscape factors such as site,building,discarded industrial facility,discarded material,soil,water body and plant.Then, based on the combination of the literature survey and outstanding examples to study the creation background, development grain and quest progress which come from the landscape design of industrial sites at home and abroad, the author try to summarize the renewable design skills of the industrial sites. The author put forward that the preservation of industrial sites and reuse is the best model for regional development. The author summarized the points on landscape design of industrial sites, including four aspects:the protection and reuse of industrial heritage,improvement of the ecological environment,development of industrial economic and transformation of space function.After the concepts being identified and the basic theoretical framework being established, the author analysis the case of the industrial sites in railway southern station of Changsha. In this paper, the author analysis and evaluate synthetically about industrial sites in railway southern station of Changsha firstly design, put forward the specific design goals. Secondly, the author proposed the design with extends the city's memory as the core by the direction of principles and objectives. Then, concrete methods of industrial space in design were discussed. At last, we need collect the feedback after design.The landscape design of industrial sites in city construction, not only can improve the ecological environment, and also can increase the quality of city image, protecting the industrial culture and traditional values, lasting the memory of the city.
