Frame of three-wheeled motorcycle, as the main and big load bearing part, must have enough strength and stiffness. However, now the design of three-wheeled motorcycle frame is based on experience and road test, which caused deficient theoretical data on bearing and safety.This article is aimed at static and dynamic analysis on F600 three-wheeled motorcycle frame, produced by Henan Pingdingshan Longxin Motorcycle Co., Ltd. , to get Mechanical property parameters and lightening design by finite element analysis and optimum design. Main contents of work includes:Firstly, basic concepts of Finite Element Method, as well as it's development, analysis progress are introduced. Principle of Elastic Mechanic is also introduced.Secondly, after solid modeling on the frame by SOLIDWORKS software and finite element modeling of original frame on shell unit by Finite Element analysis software Design Model, analysis and calculation of static strength and fatigue are made under condition of full loading bending, emergent brake, emergent turning and twist through and Mechanical of ANSYS WORKBECH. In addition, the leaf spring put together with the frame is analyzed.Thirdly, by Finite Element vibration analysis on the frame, the natural frequencies and natural modes of the first ten ranks have been obtained. Compared with engine natural frequency of this motor, it is concluded that resonance will not occurred between the frame and engine.Lastly, based on above analysis results, the Goal Driven Optimization of ANSYS Workbench is aimed at light-weight when the thickness of the main bearing parts of the frame is chosen as the design variables, the quality of the frame as the optimization variables and the maximum stress and safety factor when the left wheel is lifted up in torsion condition are chosen as the state variables. After this, the final prioritization scheme is tested in a variety of conditions, it is concluded that the scheme meet the design requirements.Research result of this paper has been applied in Pingdingshan Longxin Motorcycle Co., Ltd and plays a positive role on motorcycle design, body structure optimization, design and production cost reduction, and competition ability promotion.
