| There is a rapid development of expressway construction in China recently. But the environmental monitoring of expressway construction management is relatively slowly. It affects the people's living conditions live nearby the project and the natural ecological environment along the expressway seriously. With the use of modern information technology, based on the modern environmental monitoring, the management philosophy and computer technology, the information system of environmental monitoring and management is built to store, process and communicate information, and also discussing the environmental issues of expressway construction projects has an important value.The paper mainly studies the application of geographic information system used in expressway construction engineering environmental monitoring management. It puts forward to build the environmental monitoring system of the expressway construction based on the analysis of the general theory of environment monitoring of construction engineering and the informational environmental monitoring. The paper studied expressway the impact of the environment of different engineering construction in construction engineering firstly; Secondly it puts forward using the Spatial analysis function of GIS and the basic methods of environmental monitoring to fix up and statistic environmental monitoring stations. And then it put forward the business requirements and data needs of environment monitoring system of expressway construction engineering; Forward again the overall function design of the system; Final the paper introduces the environmental monitoring system of expressway construction project in Baise-Jingxi expressway construction project management as an application case.With the actual application of the Environmental monitoring system of expressway construction based on GIS, it is much more convenient for expressway construction to its environment management and the protecting work of the construction.
