China's rich water resources. Priority to the develop hydropower is the most important energy and environmental strategies. Development of hydropower energy is a huge boost for the national economy and improving living standards. While hydropower-development in the affirmative, must recognize that hydropower development is still lack of stable and effective running system and has a long way to go in high-efficiency energy saving. Therefore, the optimal operation of hydropower station to conduct scientific research, it is of particularly important to further improve the theory, establish and develop new models, study new methods and new technology.First describe background and status of the optimal operation of cascade hydropower stations, based on the theory of the optimal operation of hydropower stations, combined with reform of electricity market, explore and research on a long-term and short-term optimal operation of cascade hydropower stations and economic operation model of the plant conduct a study and model algorithm in order, mainly including:(1) Optimal operation model of cascade hydropower station in market conditions. Along with electricity market reform, the goal and the optimization criterion of power generation have changed, the largest electricity did not mean the biggest benefits. To ensure the safety and quality, combined with the actual needs of the electricity market, according to different periods of peak and high and low price, the greatest benefit optimization model of cascade hydropower stations have built.(2) The model of hydropower plant economic operation based on opening control is established. For hydropower stations for real time difficulty measurement of flow measurement, Through the digital processed of opening line of turbine, set up the optimized model of a hydropower optimum operation based on aperture control. Meanwhile, the establish the second optimization model and amend the integrated error. (3) The improvement of particle swarm optimization algorithm.For the particle swarm optimization problems easily fall into local optimum, using the inertia weight strategy of cosine decreasing, according to various particles of different levels to take the appropriate evolutionary strategy and build convergence determination rules toestablish the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm.(4) Combined with examples, for different optimization model simulation and comparative analysis shows that the greatest benefit of power generation model, based on opening the control of plant operation model and secondary economic optimization model has good practicability and accuracy. Meanwhile, the use of DP, PSO and MPSO to solve the optimization model, the results show that the MPSO has good performance for accuracy and speed of high-dimensional optimization problem.
