Under the current situation of energy supply and energy-saving of buildings, developments and researches about thermal insulating walls with various hollow blocks is of great significance. The performance of most hollow blocks are far away from our country's energy-saving reqiure. While the thermal insulating mortar and EPS are often used to cover the hollow blocks to form the interior or exterior thermal insulation wall and new materials with low thermal conductivity are applied to fabricate the blocks in the industry, some scholars think of wherther we could pour some heat insulating materials into the hollow blocks to improve the the performance of them.Currently, researches at home and abroad on the performance of such composite block are still rare.In this paper, thermal insulation wall of shale hollow blocks with infusion of heat insulating mortar was taken for example and we carried out Experimental study on the "how infusion of heat insulating mortar affact thermal performance of the hollow block wall. The experimental data show that with 20mm insulation mortar with thermal conductivity of 0.0799 W/m·K is wiped both inside and outside the wall, the heat transfer coefficient of not infused and infused wall is 1.00 W/m2·K and 0.795 W/m2·K; They can reach 50% of energy-saving requirements and the improvement about the heat insulation performance of wall are obvious. In this paper, based on the computational fluid software FLUENT, a set of accuracy two-dimensional method on calculation of heat insulation indicators of hollow block wall is designed, and its effectiveness is demonstrated by comparison with the experimental data. This study analyze the energy-saving efficiency of shale hollow block wall under different filling rates by useing the above method. It is founded that with the filling ratio increasing, the promotion of the heat transfer coefficient of the shale hollow brick wall is decreasing and this trend is explained combined with natural convection and radiation heat transfer theory. In this paper, under different rates of filling grouting methods are optimized by comparing the total heat flow, radiation heat flux, convection heat flux and thermal resistance and other parameters under two different cases which fill the holes near the surface of cold and hot. It is concluded that filling parts of the blocks near the hot side should be given priority. And theoretical explanation has been given. The appropriate insulating material filled in shale hollow blocks is analyzed. And a drawing of the curve of changes of the heat transfer coefficient of the wall within the thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.02-0.1 W/m·K is completed. From the curve, it can be concluded that thermal conductivity of infusion materials should be lower than 0.08 W/m·K so that the heat transfer coefficient of the wall can achieve 50% energy-saving request. This study shows the way of filling insulation mortar into the hollow block will improve the thermal performance of the wall.
