With China's rapid economic development, energy supply and demand tension was also growing, per capita energy relative shortage of resources severely limited our economic and social sustainable development. Therefore, saving energy and developing renewable energy sources were imperative. Building energy conservation was an important part of the sustainable development strategy in China, and office buildings because of its relatively high energy consumption and energy saving potential, were the most important saving buildings. Energy-efficient building design process which take into account the importance of building energy simulation is also in the process of architectural design are playing an increasingly important energy decision-making role.Timely and correctly use simulation software of energy consumption in the construction design process, can provide a theoretical basis for the majority of construction workers in more efficient use of energy-saving software, which was important for improving the efficiency of energy-saving design.In this paper, taking an example of energy simulation software IES (VE), described the main function of energy simulation software,through the description the situation of building site, envelope,internal heat gain,operating time, can get annual energy consumption of buildings.Summed up the methods of guiding the design by energy simulation software, including reference building method in energy efficiency standards and method of calculation of energy-saving rate in an energy-saving measure taken.Qualitative summary of various factors on building energy consumption, including the impact of building both energy demand and energy use of a range of factors:(1) reducing energy demand, (due to internal heat gain was similar to consider the external structure of this paper to consider the impact on energy consumption), included:building area, the number of layers, orientation, building aspect ratio, ratio of window to wall, wall, roof and form the structure, shading, etc. (2) the improvement of energy use, mainly referring to the energy-saving of air-conditioning system. Many of the air conditioning system in buildings had the unreasonable conditions in design and operation, which resulted in higher air conditioning energy consumption. For energy-saving of air-conditioning system, the article designed from the following aspects:â‘ a reasonable settings of building design and indoor environment parameters;â‘¡a well energy-saving design of HVAC systems and the selection of the cold and heat source;â‘¢optimizing the system operation mode and standardization management. And the paper select a few different level of factors influence energy consumption, analyzed the impact of each factor on the size of energy consumption by orthogonal test.Taking an example of office buildings in Jinan, this paper illustrated that energy simulation methods throughout the design process worked in the improving of architectural design.
