As a material foundation, energy is very important for human beings to survive and development. Wind energy power generation, which is compared to other fuel energy generation, has unparalleled advantages, so it is considered an ideal, clean energy and be the main form of power generation in the future. The advantages of tower units'intelligent design have become increasingly prominent with large-scale wind turbine.For a long time, tower equipment design is mainly based on the traditional experience design and depended on manual design calculations of engineering staff, therefore, which result to complication, low efficiency and long development cycle. According to these questions, we develop a CAD system, which applies Pro/E second development Pro/ Toolkit based on VC++6.0 and contains the whole process of tower equipment design. The system can help companies improve design efficiency and also can achieve the objective of improving the design response capability.By analyzing the structural characteristics of the towers equipment, wind turbine towers dimension CAD system consists of a calculation module, mechanical design module and resource management module. The size of the tower section relationship building between the parametric model is accessible through the database or manually input parameter values change the expression in the parameters of the interface to control the component model, and finally get to meet the needs of the model, the whole process with Access database management CAD system, the parameters involved, templates and example the design of complex resources, and its classification, to achieve a friendly interface control management system.In this paper, two structural features about same taper and variable taper were design, and take HRS-1000 for example. The results show that the system can improve the efficiency of tower equipment design and ensure the quality of design, engineering and technical personnel to get rid of the heavy duplication of effort, with good practical and effective response capability to improve the design.
