There are about 800 million population in china's rural areas and about 22.1 billion m~2 of rural civil construction area which accounting for 56% of housing construction area. According to the survey, with low level construction, and less insulation measures, most of the houses in cold zones don't have insulation measures, the thermal performance and air tightness of housing outside the doors and windows is poor, wall and roof construction insulation materials are not used, heat transfer coefficient is too large, heat dissipation is high, energy efficiency is poor. Coupled with simple heating devices, thermal efficiency is low, the winter heating energy consumption accounts for about 80% of energy, a lot of energy is waste, and thermal environment indoor is poor and the living environment is also poor. With the development of rural economy and living standards improvement, farmers increasingly focused on the construction of housing quality and living comfort. How to proceed country housing energy conservation rebuild in the cold zones, to create a healthy and comfortable indoor environment for the cold zones'farmers, without causing substantial growth in energy consumption, is the problem to be solved.Based on survey of insulation energy efficiency in rural housing in Shandong, Hebei, Shanxi, Henan, Liaoning and other cold zones, and the typical housing thermal calculation and test, the paper analyzed energy efficiency problems of housing in cold zones. Combined with the characteristics of the transformation of rural housing insulation, this paper proposed the method that using Price of unit thermal resistance to select higher cost performance thermal insulation materials, and used this method to compared the common insulation materials. This paper put forward the calculation model called "structural layer insulation thermal unit cost" which is determined by he insulation material properties, prices and construction costs, and it also presented the specific method that using the model to select insulation thermal and transformation program. It proposed a systematic rural housing insulation program, procedures and methods from housing insulation performance evaluation, insulation materials and program selection to the effection evaluation. Considered of the characteristics of the energy consumption of northern cold areas, this paper researched and summarized the energy-saving technologies on walls, doors, windows, roof, floors, heating facilities and so on, and it also analyzed the characteristics and applicated conditions of different energy-saving programs, this could offer reference for different living requirements and different living standard farmers.
