ABSTRACT:As one of the most important form of the intersection, the signal intersection is the significant node of the road network in a city; the capacity and service level have a direct influence on the carrying ability and service level of the whole transport network, and also the bottleneck of network capacity and traffic safety. With the rapid development of city traffic, jams and traffic delays of the signal intersection have being in increasingly serious, it gradually becomes the principal city traffic jam. For the bus-stop setting near the intersection, absurd position of bus-stop exacerbates the bottleneck effect of the intersection, increases the traffic jams and delays, and has a serious effect on the operating efficiency of the whole transport network.This article focus on the traffic delays of the signal intersection influenced by the different bus-stop location. This paper firstly introduces the theory and research of the intersection delay calculation and bus-stop's effect on the delays of other traffic flow at home and abroad, based on existing research and summarized the factors that influence the intersection delay come from bus-stop location, improved and amended the existing model for estimating the delay on an approach to a non-saturated signal intersection with bus-stop upstream, established the model for estimating the delay on an approach to a non-saturated signal intersection with bus-stop downstream. Meanwhile, analyzed the reasons of the VISSIM why it suitable for solving this problem, and obtained the saturation signal intersection delays influenced with upstream and downstream bus-stop by micro-simulation model. Finally, compared the intersection delays influenced with different bus-stop setting by using of model and simulation, provided the basis for improving the bus-stop setting and intersection traffic operation.This paper analyzes the delay of the signal intersection because of the bus-stop upstream by using of mathematical and simulation based on saturation phase intersection. In the case of non-saturated intersection, by analyzing the bus-stop factors such as the distance of bus-stop and the intersection, bus stop time in the case of a certain saturation flow rate and splits summarized the law of the signal intersection delay with upstream and downstream bus-stop. In the case of saturated intersection, structured 6 simulated scenes program that based on the effect of saturated signal intersection delay influenced with the different bus stop and bus flow. Then obtained the conclusions of the intersection delay influenced with the different bus stop and bus flow with 99 simulations. By analyzing the law of the signal intersection delay influenced with upstream and downstream bus-stop, we can obtain the propose about the setting of bus-stops near the intersection. First of all, bus-stop setting at downstream intersection is better than at upstream. Secondly, as for the upstream bus stop, site is best set at 50~90m. Last but not the least, as for the downstream bus-stop, the site is best at 70~110m in the case of large traffic intersection.
