Numerous construction waste resulted from the construction, maintenance and demolition of building has been inevitably made during the process of the urbanlization.The construction waste has been huge burden for environment. Meanwhile, the development of transportation, one of the fastest developing sectors during the process of urbanlization, is supposed to consume a mass of natural aggregate such as limestone and clay. The exploitation of the natural aggregate not only occupies land but also causes environmental problems. Moreover, it consume numerous geological resources. Construction waste applied in road base can not only cut the cost and the aggregate, alleviate the conflict on aggregate demand and supply, it can also preserve the environmental surroundings of the aggregate producing area and solve the environmental problems. It is obvious that the application of the construction waste in road base building enable us to get economical, environmental and social benefits.Initially, the properties and the performance of the aggregate of recycle construction waste were evaluated. The recycling aggregates have some unique performances. Compared with the natural aggregates, those aggregates have low density, high porosity, low strength and high water absorption. The high porosity and low strength result from the cement mortar and other soft structures on the surface of the aggregates. It can be solved by grinding.secondly, based on consulting a large number of domestic and foreign design for gradations, concerning the properties of the construction wastes, the paper use the design system of multilevel dense built-in gradation to determine the gradation.Thirdly, based on design system of multilevel dense built-in gradation which determines the optimum gradation and asphalt-aggregate ratio, the mechanical properties, anti-permanent deformation capability, resistance to fatigue were determined and the results showed that the aggregates of recycling construction waste have a good properties and performances which satisfy the requirements of the pavement performance.Conclusively, it is obviously that through reasonable strengthening technology and application method, it is totally practical that construction waste can be used in road base.
