This thesis focuses on the condition-based maintenance of Protective Relay devices,and the concept of condition-based maintenance, applications and technical supports are described.With the development of Power System, the state grid structure is becoming more complicated and distributed over a larger area. At the same time, the amount of work and cost are quickly increasing.For a long time,we have always followed the periodic maintenance principle in the Power System"perfect maintenance in time",which now can not meet the principles of maintenance requirement of modern power equipments.What's more,with the growing amount of secondary equipments,Relay Protective become more important in Power System,which has caused the negative effect of the periodic maintenance emerging. For instance,the increasing working load of maintenance manage,reducing economic benefits caused by the cut-off power line.Furthermore,with the self-check level of devices,the widely-applied of Microcomputer Protective Relays is brought to a new high. Thus,the common practice of regular detective system is undesirable. According to the practical working condition of protective devices,it must adopt condition-based maintenance.Firstly,this paper introduces about the relay maintenance of the status,from the maintenance types,content and periodicity of three aspects are discussed,pointing out that the status maintenance mode efficiency is not high maintenance,excessive waste of resources and other issues,and puts forward the concept of condition-based maintenance,and give a detailed introduction about condition-based maintenance to its scope of application of the principles and implementation in the power system. This thesis sets Shenyang supply company for example,lists the relay in Shenyang distribution and operation of equipment,which leads to the maintenance of the status of the necessity and feasibility of the problem.Then the state of maintenance of the on-line monitoring and fault diagnosis technology, management issues such as security and software development are discussed in the thesis one by one,and focus on the maintenance mode from regular maintenance to condition-based maintenance process,and further analysis about what possible problems will meet and solutions. With the development of identification technology and failure detection,reliability and life assessment techniques, the existent maintenance mode will soon be replaced by condition-based maintenance.Finally,This article has also carried on the forecast to this tendency.
