With the development of the economy demand and technology, the bridge was rapidly developed. There are many Bridges across the river and ocean in the people's everyday life. Dynamic interactions of the bridges with the water are still the difficult problems in bridges engineering. Based on Hang Zhou Bay Bridge, the shaking table test for underwater bridge pier was performed. This article analyses the dynamic properties and dynamic response of submerged bridge pier with pile foundation in the earthquake, discusses the basic principle of pile foundation failure. The article contains three main works:Firstly, build the model based on theory of similarity and verify the method. Earthquake induced hydrodynamic pressure on bridge pie. There are many of difficulties in building the bridge model because of waters around them and the water often limits the development of a dynamic model test. The article using the methods of equivalent analysis and the dimensional analysis discusses the similar relation about the bridge model. Under the premise of the stiffness similarity, the article adjusts original similar relation about the bridge model and eases the similar relation of the cross section, then get the new similar relation about the bridge model. At last, this method is proved by building the finite element model about the bridge. Compared with prototype and model making, the results of the calculation show minor differences.Secondly, the shaking table test for underwater bridge pier was performed. The test is introduced about making model, equipment and loading implementation and then the empirical dates in regard to this test are analyzed and discussed. In this test, the dynamic property of bridge pier in the water or no water is measured and the flowing pressure on the impact of bridge pier is analyzed. Based on the tests, the process from cracking stage to failure stage is recorded and the dynamic response is researched such as displacement, acceleration and so on The flowing pressure and the wave height around bridge pier are also recorded. These dates provide important information for the study of the fluid-structure interaction in the future.Thirdly, build the finite element model and compare the results with test dates. According to different conditions, select a seismic wave and enter into the finite element model. In the test, the underwater bridge pier is affected by many factors, while we can not identified all of the variables in the finite element model, so there are differences between the calculated results and the test dates. Simulation results show, the dynamic property has few differences dynamic property, for example the displacement has a difference of about 7.7 percentage points. In a word, the finite element model about underwater bridge pier is reasonable.
