In the field of architecture, tree is often used as landscape elements to the performance of environment. However, tree is of great significance to the architecture itself for its aspects of spatial, aesthetic, culture and ecological. From the primitive but to the western classical order, then the contemporary avant-garde architects" works, tree-form can be found as many applications.Contemporary architecture show the diversity of form and space, while the continue increasing conscious about ecological design. Against this background, the tree show many aspects of reference as a natural form. Many architects proposed to the idea of "build a tree" want to create one artificial natural space.Based on this phenomenon, this article teased out the development path of the tree's application in architecture through reviewing various periods in history.
