In recent years, remote sensing survey developed rapidly both at home and abroad. Digital aerial camera, typical of remote sense products, were widely used in aerial earth observation and other industrial fields. With the development of aerial camera, the requirement of the image storage rate, capacity and volume are also increasing, the paper designs and realizes a transmission and storage system of high-speed mass-data.In the paper, it designs a control system based on field programmable gate array (FPGA), using SDRAM chip as the cache, implements high-speed image data transmission, real-time display and hard disk storage by using the hardware programming language VHDL. Modular design concept plays an important role in the paper, it helps designing the transmission system and storage system.Main tasks are as follows:1. The design and implementation of data transmission system. Designed and implemented the data source subsystem, the filtering subsystem, the real-time data monitoring synchronization subsystems.2. The design and implementation of data storage system. Designed and implemented the high-speed data cache subsystem, using staggered pre-charge scheme and real-time read-write cache scheme, effectively enhanced the efficiency of data storage systems.3. Simulation and experimental validation. In the transmission and storage system design, the use of simulation tool MODELSIM helps making a good functional simulation for the independent subsystems. Image transmission experiments, using experimental data sources and aerial cameras, were done after the design is completed. The system were carried to a digital aerial camera to make experiments, experimental results verify the instrument system have good capacities of aerial image data detection and filtering, and high-speed cache, and storage.This design of high-speed mass-data storage system has advantages of high speed, small size, and large capacity. Especially, a staggered scheme and a real-time read-write pre-charge scheme of the cache subsystem effectively enhanced the rate of the image. The experiments verified the system to meet the device demand of most current digital aerial equipments, has made a technical preparation for aerial apparatus further development of technology.
