| With the developing of the integrated circuit , the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) technology has become an important design method of analog and digital circuit,and has been widely used in analog and digital circuitry and many other fields. The EDA technology,which is closely connected with the electronic technology, microelectronics technology and computer science, can be used in designing electronic product automatically. It was firstly put forwarded in 70s, and until now there has been three stages of the EDA . That is the computer aided design (CAD) of electronic circuit, the computer aided engineering (CAE) and the electronic system design automation. The design results of EDA can not only be verified by FPGA/CPLD but also implemented through the Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). One important characteristic of the EDA is that the design documents should be completed by the HDL (hardware Description Language), nowadays it was widely accepted by everyone and widely used in the electronic design. To use the tools of EDA, computer simulation can be used in various stages and all levels of electronic design so that the design works accuracy, can greatly reduce the design cost and shorten the design cycle.The traffic light control system usually need to achieve automation control the traffic lights junction change and the traffic lights control system based on FPGA with simple,reliable,and high-speed operation characters. The system through function and interface expansion can simultaneously control several intersections traffic lights junction transform, and it also can rewrite application rapid and immediate if necessary .Four different traffic controller was be designed to adopt the intersection of different situation.Designed using VHDL description style of the structure ,function .according to the need,each system is divided into controller module,counter modules,display module, decoding module and so on. The MAX + PLUS II software automatically completed the VHDL resource program analys,logic synthesis,optimization and device programming.The control logic of the system can change the color of traffic lights alternately and has the function of countdown, results of the simulation show that the system can control the traffic lights change automatically. |
