Research On The Development Of Hydrophilic City Based On The Comprehensive Advantages Of Waterfronts

Waterfront occupies an important position in the development of city for its advantages of scarce location and resources. How to change the advantages to service the urban development and seek the best combination of waterfront and city is the focus of the development of the waterfront city. Since the mid-21th century, the waves of waterfront construction have been brought by the representative of the urban waterfront renewal of North America and Europe. In China the waterfront construction rise in 1990s, most cities expected to upgrade the city image and promote the economic development of city by the construction of waterfront. But based the currently situation, most urban waterfront construction is still in the primary stage, characterized by identical landscapes. The advantages of waterfronts have not been played, and the relationship of city and water is still more isolated. Based on the consultation project of Shandong province undertaken by my tutor, this paper analyzed the present situation of waterfront construction in Linyi, and proposed the new urban construction concept-hydrophilic city, which is based on the comprehensive advantages of waterfront and aimed for achieving the intimate relationship of the city and water.Linyi lies in South-East of Shandong province, is the largest city in Shandong province for the total area of 17184 Square kilometers. Built close to the river and named after the River, Linyi has over 300 rives which are more than10 kilometers including theYi River longed 287.5 kilometers and the Shu River longed 253 kilometers. With rivers intertwined, Linyi has a good basis for developing the urban waterfronts. Although the start of developing waterfront in Linyi was not earlier, but its important status in the urban development is gradually emerging, which main shows on expanding the space of urban development to promote the optimization of urban spatial structure by developing along the river axis, agglomerating the tertiary industry with its core of the tourism industry to promoting the optimization of industry structure, formatting the typical ecological demonstration areas to support the development of ecological city.Waterfront is the important basis of the urban development. Starting from the sustainable development theory, location theory, urban renewal theory and axis theory of regional development, this paper will summarize the comprehensive advantages of urban waterfront in the urban development based on the analysis of the status of the waterfront in Linyi. For playing this comprehensive advantages, this paper also propose the new urban construction concept of hydrophilic city based the comprehensive advantage of waterfronts which is aimed for achieving the harmony relationships of the city and water, the industry and water, and the ecology and water based and promoting the urban development.
