Nowadays, with the economic globalization and fierce market competition, it isurgent for enterprise to use digital manufacture technology. In the mechanicalproducts of design and manufacturing, there exist lots of geometric identical orsimilar but different sizes of parts, These parts often cause frequent repetitive work;Meanwhile, there will be produce a lot of design information and engineer data in theprocess, so build Engineering Database of parts, which can make the most use ofcomputer's processing power to achieve the automation of data processing andefficient management. Using the digital 3D model for its CAD/CAM system providesa good solution, so the study of digital manufacture based on the flange CAD systemtechnology and method is very meaningful.Given the Pro/E software has been widely used,Therefore this thesis develop theflanges parametric CAD system based on the Pro/E.This system is in the Windows XPoperating system, using the Visual C++ 6.0 combined with SQL Server databasemanagement technology, based on Pro/E 2.0 for secondary development platform toachieve.Using this CAD system, users can convenient and rapid design flange throughthe flange design parameters data stored in the database. This thesis developed thesystem can avoid the repeat three-dimensional modeling of flange, which greatlyimproving product modeling design efficiency and quality of design,and has practicalvalue.While this research helps to promote CAD/CAE/CAM technology andknowledge management system in the enterprise development and application.To sum up, the main content of this paper is:1. Establish flange model basing on the Program and expanded into flangestandard library in the Pro/E environment.2. For the technology of the secondary development of Pro/E makes a deepresearch and application, using Pro/Toolkit and Visual C + + 6.0 development tools todesigning system interface.3. Research the engineering database establishment and management technologybased on C/S. Using SQL Server software establish flange engineering database, andstudy the Pro/E system and SQL Server database ADO data access technology.
