At present, market exterior insulation is mainly by organic thermal insulating material,these organic thermal insulating material heat-retaining properties can meet the requirements, but stability is insufficient, easy to crack, especially can not solve the issue of fire safety.This paper firstly analysis the material from thermal insulating material used at home and abroad, concluded that the relationship of the key indicators and the insulating materials. And from the exterior insulation system, analysis the construction performence, reliability, safety three-property comprehensive comparative, chooses comprehensive performance relative's excellent insulating materials. Secondly, choose foam glass as representatives of inorganic insulating material, according to calculate the heat conduction theory and walls thermal resistance, heat transfer coefficient of thermal indexes, such as hot laziness and meet energy 50% insulation layer thickness needed even 65%. External thermal insulation system of foam glass were designed combustion performance, alkali and safety related tests, the result of inorganic heat preservation material as foamed glass external thermal insulation system has excellent performance.
