Energy consumed in buildings has become one of three most important energyconsumptions in China in recent years. According to the statistics, building energyconsumption probably accounts for46%to47%of the total social energy consumption, andthus the building energy conservation is imminent. External insulation in buildings is one ofthe main approach to building energy consumption. Driven by national policies and energyconservation standards, a large number of external insulation technologies with variousmaterials and construction emerge. The external insulation-decoration integrated material inbuildings is one of the principal technology in external insulation strageties. However, fewstudies, considering the insulation efficiencies and fire protection performances, exist fromperspective of fundamental science. This study firstly presents an indicator system abouteffective application of the external insulation-decoration integrated materials and makes aPCA (principal component analysis), and then studies the key performances, flammabilityand insulation efficiency, using polyurethane aluminum composite panels. Finally, theapplicability of the material is studied according to the division of climate zones in China.The main content as follows:1. Investigation and analysis are conducted on external insulation technology andresearch status of external insulation material, especially on related properties such asflammability and thermal insulation efficiency, is summarized. Furthermore, the relateddevelopment situations of the external insulation-decoration integrated material areintroduced.2. Relevant factors that affect the application of external insulation-decorationintegrated materials are selected and classified. Relevant indicators that affect the applicationof the material are analyzed based on scoring by insiders and PCA, according to which thenumber of indicators reduced and eight principal components are extracted. Meanwhile, thefire protection properties of the materials and the fact that the insulation efficiency affectsthe application significantly are obtained, which give us more detailed and profoundunderstanding on the requirements of material properties.3. Combustion characteristics of typical external insulation-decoration integratedmaterials are analyzed by experiments, and the combustion performances are determined.This provides the basic informations of development fire over external thermal insulationmaterials and constructing relevant theory models. 4. Studies on efficiency of thermal insulation and applicability of various regions inChina are conducted through the model which is established by Ecotect software and avariety of conditions. The results show that the heat insulation of material are obvious,especially to typical city Guangzhou, hot summer and warm winter, and typical city HeFei,hot summer and cold winter.
