With the advancement of science and technology and the improvement of living standards, people demand much higher for living environment safety and convenience. From putting forward concept to nowadays widely develop in public; Smart Home has become the basic requirements of modern lives, which has the core of Video Intercom system.The traditional Video Intercom products which mainly transmit analog audio and video signal are still living in the dominant market position because of its cheaper price, mature technology and performance stability etc. Digital Video Intercom and intelligent products based on TCP/IP technology, or 3G network data signals are more advanced in technology and more powerful extensions, so its market is gradually promoted. Although digital video intercom will takes place of traditional bus-control system gradually, now domestic digital video intercom system is lag behind a lot comparing with aborad's in technical capability and product stability. For example, crash phenomenon often appears, video image quality is poor, network transmit lag seriously and talkback echo happens.This paper derives from a technology project in panyu area,2009. This paper first analyzed the analog audio-video intercom system of RS485 bus-controlled using in the company, provide a compatible digital intercom system project which can competes with the analog system:Using 8-bit MCU STC12C5A32S2 of Hongjing technology as main controller of analog audio-video intercom system, cooperate with S3C6410 chipset of Samsung as main controller of digital audio-video intercom system. Pure digital intercom system solutions:the hardware platform base on S3C6410 of ARM11, operating system WinCE6.0, video compression mechanism by H.264 technology, audio compression by G.711 technologies, TCP/IP control transmit protocol realization. This paper completed the hardware and software design. The hardware design includes: schematic diagram design, PCB design and provide the basic debug method; the software design includes the establish of development platform, design of the physics drive, the upper application software design and software function testing design.Testing verifies that this system can completes the video data sampling in S3C6410 and decodes in H.264, and displays the video at the resolution of 640X480 with 30 frames per second; And test also completes G.711 audio decoding in software, tie-in powerful hardware away echo the video interphone circuit can complete high quality video intercom. This product has already applied in market, so this system overcome the defects of traditional video intercom system effectively, and greatly improved the original crash, poor image quality and talk echo phenomenon.
