Vehicle ride comfort is one of the important properties of modern cars. With the development of computer simulation technology and emerging of virtual simulation technology, traditional method of ride comfort has been constantly updated and improved. Studying realized on computer has become reality. It provides a more rational, efficient and accurate way for automotive product design.This paper take a practical model for reference section and a virtual model is established based on VPG. By calculation and analysising of simulation the results can comprehensive and accurate evaluate model, and do further study of different factors impact on ride comfort. The main researches include: First, analysis and simplify vehicle systems. A virtual vehicle multi-body dynamical simulation model consist of suspension, tire model, body finite element model is established. Select appropriate unit type and mesh vehicle body. Simultaneously, element material properties are defined, initial and boundary conditions are set. Second, according to road roughness power spectral density, a random road is established. Define contact between tire and road surface. After establishing the simulation system, submit it to LS-DYNA for calculate. Body acceleration time-domain curves and frequency-domain power spectrums curves are obtained. Effects of speed, tire,suspension and road condition on vehicle ride comfort are analyzed under specific conditions of road. According to international standards and domestic regulations, total weighted acceleration of vehicle ride comfort is evaluated by root-mean-square method. In addition, comparing simulation results with real vehicle test results prove that simulation based on VPG can truly reflect real vehicle test conditions and results achieved are accurate and reliable. In short, VPG enable a more reasonable, fast and accurate study for ride comfort. This method has important practical significance for improving vehicle ride comfort, reducing production costs and shorting development cycle.
