AMT (Automated Mechanical Transmission) has the advantages of high efficiency, reliable operation, simple and compact structure. AMT is easy and suitable to produce in China. The vehicle using hydraulic controlled AMT can absorb shift shock from shift process and vibration caused by external loads. This function can protect overload and have advantages of fast response, high control precision, simple operation. Therefore it is widely used in commercial vehicles and low-grade passenger vehicles.This paper carries out based on the project"AMT system development for ATV and passenger car"raised by company. The goal of this project is researching and developing AMT system for ATV and passenger vehicle aiming at having fully independent intellectual property rights and the project will be industrialized finally. This paper is based on the objective evaluation for shift quality and impact theory combined with the actual usage condition using software to simulate the shift quality in shift process. In the process of development, it has to be considered the influence on the shift process. The shift quality and the indicators of the objective evaluation are introduced in this paper as well as the analysis of the characteristics of driven system. According to the status of driven system, I set up the dynamic model of the process of AMT shift. Also establish the model of engine, clutch, transmission, shift force of synchronizer, driven system according to the characteristics of driven system. Using Matlab/Simulink and AMESim co-simulate the action of hydraulic actuator during shift process. In the condition of satisfying the design requirement, use the conclusion of simulation to design the parts of hydraulic actuators aiming at improving the shift quality. Finally assemble the parts based on the principle of virtual assembly and design requirement.The simulation model parameters are set by the actual parameters in the paper which is using AMESim model to simulate the physical structure of hydraulic actuator and hydraulic control and using Matlab/Simulink model to simulate the shift logic of hydraulic actuator. In order to strengthen the persuasive of conclusion, I discuss the theory of the shift quality impact caused by gap value and the effect area of oil cylinder according to the curves obtained by simulation and engineering, using the different gap values as example,finally obtain the conclusion. It plays an important role in confirming the accurate design plan for improving the shift quality in the initial phase. It is also critical to shorten the development cycle and reduce cost.
