The vehicle suspension system is a connecting device, which transmit various force and moment between body and tire. The vehicle suspension system is mainly consisted of spring components, damper components and orientation machine. The three parts respectively performs the functions of cushion damping and orientation, and cooperate with each other to finish the task that transfers all kinds of forces and torques from tires to vehicle body. As this kind of equipment the transferring characteristics of the suspension system is the most important and direct factors that influence the vehicle ride performance and handling performance. For multi-link independent suspension having a good performance, so more and more multi-link suspensions are used in the rear suspensions of family cars now. From the trend of development, multi-link suspensions are spreading to ordinary cars. Using the ADAMS, this paper mainly researches the multi-link independent suspension of a car.The article elaborates on the vehicle independent suspension kinematics and elasticity kinematics characteristics evaluation parameters and testing method. Here evaluation parameters and test methods was respectively discussed. At the evaluation parameters part, the article point out suspension performance parameters to evaluate independent suspension kinematics and elasticity kinematics characteristics, and give the exact definitions of these performance parameters, at the same time the article endeavors to discuss the changeable characteristics of these parameters and their influences to the vehicle handling performance.This paper analyzes the multi-link rear suspension structure in detail, and describes the whole process of develop of multi-link rear suspension template, including the establishment of hardpoint, general part and mount part, geometry, joint and bushing, force, parameter, input communicator and output communicator. At last, establishes the multi-link rear suspension template, and builds the subsystem of multi-link rear suspension.With ADAMS/CAR software, the article simulates the several different experiments for the multi-link independent suspension assembly systems. To evaluate the suspension kinematics and elasticity kinematics characteristics, the article plots all kinds of curves with ADAMS/CAR postprocessor, meanwhile analyzes characteristics of the multi-link independent suspension.Establishes the dynamics model of a car, including track rod, front and rear suspension, steering, tires, engine, body, and other sub-systems. According to the requirements of the current standards GB/T6323-94 of our nation's for vehicle controllability and stability test, this paper sets up venues environmental needed by the simulation and carry out simulation and analysis for vehicle handling stability such as steady static circular test, steering wheel angle step input test, and steering wheel angle pulse input test. Analysis and evaluates stability control performance of the car.
