The development of underground space is a necessary process of the urbanization. It can relieve many problems about the development of modern cities. But the impression and evaluation of underground space is often not very high. There are many reasons, such as lack of natural light, poor air circulation, poor sense of direction, emotional tension. This paper, through the survey about cognitive and demand of user in the underground shopping street, attempts to find out the problems of spatial morphology which affects people's judgments of underground space. For the analysis of spatial morphology, we will discuss from two aspects, spatial physical morphology and spatial human morphology. The former mainly discuss spatial layout, combination and elements of underground spatial morphology. The latter mainly investigate the environment from the perspective of user's demand, combining the concept of place spirit. We select Dalian victory underground shopping street as a case study to discuss the relationship of spatial morphology and user behavior. Through site investigation, survey and experimental test we can find out the problems of using. The means of specific operation are crossing behavior analysis, shopping behavior analysis and evacuation behavior analysis. After collation of survey data and superposition of the test schema, we can analyze the points and severity of the problems. Finally on the basis of inductive analysis of the basic model, we can propose the case solutions and optimization strategy. We hope this research and analysis can provide some ideas and suggestions about the related research or similar design.
