With the rapid development of modern information technology, such as virtual reality, network technology and multimedia, computer simulation technology is widely used in various fields of application. Computer simulation technology has a huge advantage in virtual real graphic modeling, human-computer interaction designing, system management and operation of security, and it is favor by users.The existing simulator which is used in marine engineers'training and evaluation practical operation of ships is a semi-physical type, a strong sense of mixed simulator. The simulator plays an important role in the marine engineers'training and the practical operation of the vessels, the great achievements are seen, but there are shortages in use, such as:system expansion is weak, poor job stability, secondary development is not good enough, the training location and the number of trainees is limited and some other issues. Virtual marine engine simulator based on PIMS allows students locating at remote place to achieve interactive simulation operation through the interactive control device(such as:mouse and key board) in the virtual marine engine scenes and in simulating real electro-mechanical equipments' operating and controlling environment, the simulator based on PIMS has the following advantages:1) Internet or LAN-based virtual operating system can help the students achieve an unlimited space, unlimited training number and unlimited number of students,network-style training and evaluating; 2) on the basis of cost-effective and low-cost, this system can improve the quality of training significantly.Dynamic simulating design fuel oil purifying system operating and controlling process based on PIMS is one of the important part of virtual engine simulator, the subject chooseα-LAVAL FOPX automatic fuel oil purifier and its composing system which is used in a 5600TEU container vessel as a virtual scene modeling prototype and take the fuel oil purifying system's operating and controlling processes as the simulating prototype.The whole system construct a virtual scene of automatic fuel oil purifying system by using configuration technology, network technology, computer technology comprehensively, The main researching contents of the subject are as follows:1) Build a virtual scene of fuel oil purifying system based on PIMS configuration software; 2) The simulation design of fuel oil pumping; 3)The simulation design of automatic control process about; 4) The web is released of fuel oil separating and sludge discharging virtual scene system which has human-computer interacting function.The focus of this study is the construction of the virtual scene for fuel oil purifying system and the design of simulating operation for fuel oil's automatic separating and sludge discharging. The paper makes full use of PIMS configuration software to construct virtual model and use this software itself powerful script function to realize the complex controlling logic of fuel oil automatic separating and sludge discharging, then complete the simulating process of virtual operation. This simulating system can make the necessary changes according to the user's different needs; and it is with strong expansibility.
