With the radical increasing of market competition, product requires more and more diversities and individualities to meet consumers' demands. While its practical function and price are no longer the major factors for consumer to consider when purchasing, product's perceptual content is becoming more and more important. Product's appearance and colour is an important medium to bridge the client and the designer, and product's image conveys the implied culture information, which is the effective method to express the client's emotional need. For long time the designer has always relied on his/her own experience, intuition and inspiration to design model, which is difficult to satisfy the client's emotional need exactly and efficiently due to the lacking of the effective support from both theory and experiment. Product is the link between designers and consumers of information transfer and feedback. Image is the feeling expression for a consumer about products, while designers based on the expression of consumers to get the image design. Based on the theory and the method of the Kansei engineering and the Genetic Algorithm the author studied the issue of creative model design orienting to the client's emotional need, realized the structural expressing of client's emotional need on the image level,per formed the associated experiments and analysis, and established the basis of the theory and technique for the computer-aided image-oriented product model design innovation.Currently on the market there are so many of the watch brand and theirs styles are complex, watch function differences has become increase unobvious. When a customer wants to buy a watch, they not only consider brand and price but also pay attention to the watch itself, with the shape and color. In this study take women watch as the research object, The major research works included in the dissertation are as following:(1) Firstly, framing the set of appraisal words and pictures and purifying them, make these two parts as a appraisal scale and test it properly;(2) Resolve the conflict between form and semantic conflicts and set up a complete model of design variables, the semantic and preferences through the multi-objective programming of the image semantics. Then through genetic algorithm the evolution of offspring, the optimal design of the product has been gotten for the target consumer groups.(3) Suggest system combines a gray theory-based colour-association evaluation method and a colour-harmony-based aesthetic evaluation method to design and evalyate different product-colour schemes. Then applicate the genetic algorithms to solve problems with color optimization problem. And provide a new method for computer aided color design.The results will provide technical support about the feeling feature for women product design, as well as provide a method to other products designed.
