In accordance with the requirement of intelligence, small-scale, high precision, good explosion-proof performance, high universality, as well as high performanceprice ratio, an improved intelligent channel flowmeter has been proposed in this paper, which is an combination of circuit principle, intrinsic safe theory, fluid compensation technique and advanced numerical algorithm. Meanwhile, analysis, design and debug of software and hardware in each component has been approached specifically.The system consists of two parts: system terminal and monitor center. Particularly, the system terminal which is also called flowmeter takes use of ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller as the control core for data acquisition and communicateon. Firstly, the differential pressure, absolute pressure and temperature signals could be collected through sensors and compensated by hardware circuit. Then, the analog signals could be converted into digital signals through A/D conversion part, which would be sent to the microcontroller for calculation and compensation taking advantage of advanced numerical algorithm. Finally, the mentioned data as well as parameters might be sent to monitor center by HART modem. In order to improve the universality and measurement precision of the system, least square support vector machine,wavelet neural network and interpolation algorithmhave been applied in this paper.As has been tested, the system could successfully accomplish the transmission from data acquisition terminal to the monitor center via HART modem. In particular, the system could perfectly meet the requirements of remote flow monitor, such as long transmission distance, high real-time ability, reliability, extension as well as low cost of construction and running. Thus a reliable flow collection platform with multi-parameters and high-precision performance has been constituted, which might be applied in complex field.
