Vortex Street Flowmeter has been developed quickly since 70's,80's.It is applied widely to many fields of industry. The benefits of this type of flowmeter include high accuracy, good linearity, wide measuring range, good anti-vibration and excellent reliability. With the develop of industry, enterprise have the need to intelligentize the detect meter, which becomes to a node of fieldbus. Intelligent meter should be able to detect, calculate, display and communicate with network. What our paper argues is intelligent vortex street flowmeter system developed by us, along with Automation Meter Factory Of Changsha Mining Research Institute.The system of intelligent vortex street flowmeter is constructed with the core of Mixed Signal Microcontroller MSP430F149 , which is Ultralow-Power Consumption produced by Texas Instrument. The system captures the signal of vortex street and work out instantaneous volumetric flow, cumulative volumetric flow, instantaneous molar flow and cumulative molar flow. The parameters can be displayed by LCD. Four keys are used to switch content of display and set parameters. Along with D/A chip AD421 and Modem chip HT2012, the system constructs HART fieldbus network with upper computer.The paper introduces firstly the working principle of vortex street flowmeter, secondly the signal conditioning circuit. In chapter 4, the paper introduce the characteristics and stucture of microcontroller MSP and HART fieldbus. At last, on the base of analyzing the operation of the system, every function module of software is programmed.Experiment result shows that the vortex street flowmeter system we developed features high measuring accuracy, ease operation and good reliability.
