Energy is the important material basis for the production of human life and the development of social economic. The global energy situation is grim and the traditional and non-renewable energy sources are drying up, so that new energy and renewable energy sources are urgent. Among the many renewable energy resources, the solar energy has enormous advantages that are great, universality, economic and cleanliness, but solar chimney power technology has not yet been universal. The solar chimney power system has great potential for development, and the system consists of heat collector, chimney and turbine generator. It is suitable for the desert with the great solar radiation intensity.This issue is simulating different internal structure of solar chimney power system and trying to arrive at the internal optimization structure in system so as to improve the conversion efficiency of the solar energy. The simulated conditions that are external meteorological factors can be taken into account. And the medium using for storage and exchanger heat is sand, which characteristics can be researched. Furthermore the theoretical analysis and calculations can be done. What'more, it will provide accordings for the building desert solar chimney power plant in Golden Bay in Wuhai of Inner Mongolia in china.The paper describes that collected, sorted out and analyzed for the relevant information that is about geographical environment and solar energy resources in Golden Bay in Wuhai of Inner Mongolia, and it is explained to be feasible for building solar chimney power plants on the desert in Golden Bay in Inner Mongolia; it obtains parameter calculation model about heat collector roof area, sand thickness as heat storage medium and chimney height of solar chimney power generation system through theoretical calculations; It is By small-scale experiments heat collector, it gets as follows: when the air flow is absence for the Inner Mongolia region in March, the maximum temperature of the sand to be as heat storage medium presents at 16:00, and the maximum temperature of sand rises up to 40K. It will be used for designing parameters of the desert solar chimney power plants in Golden Bay in Wuhai; Besides, it is fitting to a curve of surface heat flow that are affected to the solar radiation with time, which is sand as storage medium to study; The solar chimney power system with the different structures of the solar collector can be simulated, by calculation it gets as following: the local wind speed have an effect on air distribution in the circular collector, when the wind velocity is greater than 3.5m/s, it will lead to have reflow phenomenon in collector, resulting in the declining of the utilization rate; As a results, the solar chimney power system with semi-circular solar collector (c mode design) that is set in the direction of the radius is more efficient and the air flow velocity at the bottom of chimney is the biggest. And that the environmental wind pressure will have an multilateral effect on the system, in which is up to the maximum air flow velocity when the environmental wind flow into the system by 45°angle wind inlet. In conclusion, it is proposed we select semi-circular collector and set in the direction of the radius(that is c mode design) to build in Golden Bay in Wuhai and the wind inlet is set to the Northwest.The research of the subject provides the theoretical support for the development and application of the solar chimney power generation system, and it have a significant to alleviate the current energy and environmental pressures. While it is a new power generation technology to explore scientifically with using of natural resources, therefore there are important values.
