Nowadays, the electronization degree of automotive dashboard become more and more high with the development of technology; the full digital automotive dashboard display unit application has already become popular abroad, and most of these automotive dashboard are step-motor type that transmits various kinds of information through bus. At the same time, just because of higher complexity and more and more powerful function of automotive dashboard, people increasingly pay attention to the security problem resulted from automotive dashboard application. In mass-produce process of automotive dashboard manufacturer and auto manufacturer, how to complete the finished product inspection is closely related to the quality and security of vehicle, so development of automatic detection device, for replacing artificial detection which is generally applied in domestic manufacturer, has gradually become a meaningful research topic.The article embarked from CAN-bus technology study, and conducted pre-research development for electronic control unit of automatic detection device in automotive dashboard; the designed electronic control unit can generate signals automotive dashboard needed in vehicle operation, such as CAN-bus signal, pulse signal, analog voltage current signal etc, thus providing recognition work of automotive dashboard with advantage. The research can be divided into two parts: hardware system and software system. Hardware system, with a core of MCU system, designs and develops the hardware circuit used in automotive dashboard detection. Software system makes use of LabVIEW to develop host computer application interface, adopts serial port communication to control hardware circuit to conduct the work.After the electronic control unit development finished, the feasibility of CAN-bus signal, step-motor pulse signal, analog voltage current signal, on-off signal and power signal has been validated based on combined experiment of actual panel and designed virtual panel, simultaneously, electronic control unit of automatic detection device is also validated to be accurate and feasible.
