By the end of 2009, the traffic mileage of highway has reached 6.5 million kilometers already in China.With the increase of highway traffic mileage, the total number of annual highway traffic accidents also increases.According to the research, most of highway traffic accidents can be avoided by early warning. For these reasons, this paper designs a highway anti-collision alarming system based on ZigBee.Domestic researches for anti-collision alarming system always use radar measure the change of distance and calculate the velocity and acceleration of the front vehicles, then make rear-end collision alarm. On one hand, the highway anti-collision system this paper designed use wireless real-time communication technology between vehicles based on ZigBee exchange vehicles'velocity, acceleration and other information, then these information can help make rear-end alarm more accurately. On the other hand, the highway anti-collision system can also send passing alarm based on ZigBee to call attention to the driver of front vehicles when the system determines that this vehicle's driver decided to pass, and this system will make dangerous-passing alarm call attention to the driver who decided to pass when it does not meet conditions.In order to implement the system function, this paper builds the anti-rear-end model and the passing distance model. For one thing, this paper achieves the highway minimum driving safe distance by means of theoretical derivation, and utilizes existing standards to verify its validity and applicability, then analyzes for velocity, acceleration, highway adhesion coefficient and other influencing factors through the simulation of anti-rear-end model. For another, this paper achieves the highway passing safe distance by means of theoretical derivation, and analyzes for vehicle shape, velocity, acceleration and other influencing factors through the simulation of passing distance model.In this paper, the highway anti-collision alarming system contains velocity collection node, acceleration node and vehicle main node. The velocity collection node and the acceleration collection node collect vehicle's velocity and acceleration respectively, and send the collected information to the vehicle main node. The vehicle main node receives the sended information and other adjacent vehicles'information, and calculates vehicles'distance in accordance with RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) which is getting from the chip, then make alarms according to current information. This paper does hardware and software design, and utilizes the main function through the experiment method, and finally modifies the highway anti-collision alarming system according to the experimental results.
