| Recent years, with the development of economy in china, urban traffic demand increased rapidly. Determined by existing land use pattern, the road space resource is limited, and the urban traffic problem followed is more prominent. Especially for the rapid growth of private car, traffic congestion become more serious, sustainable development of city needs more efficient traffic mode.Currently, MRT (mass rapid transit) including subway, light railway, BRT has become the most important way to solve urban traffic problem. Due to advantages such as low-cost, large-capacity, shorter construction cycle, operation flexibility, BRT has attracted the attention of many cities.We first discussed the problem of existing urban public transit system and the mode of public transit development, according to the nature of these problems and the popular idea of integrated transport, proposed the concept that public transit mode must match the corridor-level; combined with the analysis of city development trend, we discussed applicability, scope and modes relative to BRT.BRT network planning method is directly relative to the difficulty of planning and effectiveness of planning. This paper employed ridership estimate as the foundation of network planning, and proposed corresponding ridership estimate model according to BRT systems with different attribute; in order to simplify planning procedure, we proposed thinking that planning by grade and wiring by zone, Established a method that divide the total planning zone into a series of minor service zones taking population, area and land properties as standard, identify the transit corridors, then develop the BRT network plan with a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis; this paper also discussed how could BRT link up to other transit modes.This paper made a case study according to public transit system of Harbin. Analyzed and defined the problems of existing public transit system of Harbin; determined the development strategy of Harbin BRT system for different periods and zones according to the development strategy of Harbin. Completed the identification of Harbin transit corridors, then with the result of Harbin rail-way plan, property of each corridors and it's effect in city development, we choose the appropriate mode of each corridors; estimated the ridership of Harbin BRT system in future years, and established the network plan of Harbin BRT system for recent years; finally, we described the problems that may encounter in the process of plan implementation, and proposed the corresponding solutions. |
