| As the Chinese Passenger Car Side Impact Regulation and Chinese New Car Assessment Program(C-NCAP)are carried out, the requirement on the passive safety of the passenger is becoming much strict.But the first two groups of the C-NCAP test results announced by the C-NCAP management institution show that the performance is not satisfying, especially the side impact performance.So how to improve the side crashworthiness is a problem facing to all the Chinese automobile manufacturers and technical centers.The main purpose of this disquisition is to improve the side impact performance of a new vehicle, especially under the condition of C-NCAP. Taking certain SUV as the object of study, this paper's work is as following:First of all, it is necessary to mesh the finite element model, connect all of parts, then assign materials and properties. Afterwards, the components sets have to be grouped according to spot layout of the physical vehicle, which helps to set the contact types, hourglass control parameters and grid deformation control parameters. Finally, carriage model is built after setting the initial conditions and boundary conditions. After the MDB is verified, the side impact simulation of the SUV is done according to the Chinese Passenger Car Side Impact Regulation by using LS-DYNA. The side impact performance is evaluated through deformation of body, deform distributing of side door, velocity of some important points. The side door beam plays an important part in side impact. So this paper is verified which offer some feasible experience for future research of side impact. |
