| Sports and recreational spaces are places and spaces for sports and recreational activities. As an essential component of the shared outdoor space of any residential area, sports and recreational spaces within residential areas are the most direct activity spots for community members. In an age of accelerated urbanization and pace of city life, they served for the pursuing of happy and healthy life, encouraging the communication and interaction of people living in cities. As much as the increase in the focus on the quality of shared outdoor space with the maturing of real estate business, in terms of both the design and planning of the developer, as well as the consumption ideas of customers, yet the design lays more emphasis on the scenery rather than the room for activities. Besides, for cities in mountainous areas in which land is notoriously scarce, the failure to meet the demand for physical exercises nearby due to the shortage of exercise facilities and areas for outdoor sports and recreational spaces within residential areas intensifies. Especially when sports exercises are now not only the need of people living a fast-pace life, but also the request of nationwide physical fitness plan. Also, rich sports and recreational activities could encourage the communication and interaction among people, in a world where the height growing of buildings wiping away the intimacy of neighbors, participation in and watching sports and recreational activities can help to improve the relationships of neighbors, thus be positive to the harmonization and well-beings of urban inhabitants.Based on ideas mentioned above as well as the systematic theory of space, this paper discusses the structural and location relations as well as the morphology and level structural relations of outdoor sports and recreational spaces and those of the shared outdoor space in a macro perspective, and analyzes the outdoor sports and recreational spaces in terms of types, components, functioning demand, the relation with shared outdoor space within residential areas and find the integration model on the basis of these analysis. Taking the mountainous residential areas as the study objects and the city of Chongqing as an example, the paper reveals the conditions and existing problems through comprehensive case study, and brings forward the idea of integrated design to improve it.Questioning– Clearing the definition the mountainous residential areas and outdoor sports and recreational space and, through analyzing the types of sports and recreational activities, specifying the study object, which is the outdoor sports and recreational space of mountainous residential areas. Through discussing the relationships between the outdoor sports and recreational spaces and mountainous residential areas, this study identifies the core question: how can outdoor sports and recreational spaces answer the demand of more sports and recreational activities and encourage the communication and interaction between neighbors.Analyses– Taking Chongqing as an example and the mountainous residential areas as the study object, through analyzing its influencing factors, component factors, spatial patterns, combined with field researches, this study resolves in details the characteristics of the outdoor sports and recreational spaces, offering to the followed integrated structural design analysis a clear object.Integration– Analyzing the methods of integrated designing of outdoor sports and recreational spaces within mountainous residential areas. Guided by the principles of spatial system concepts, combined with ecological concepts and humanism, this study brings forward the integrated design in both the macro and micro level. In the macro level, the study brings forward the integration of location and spatial relations of outdoor sports and recreational spaces and shared outdoor spaces, running an integrated designing analysis of the choosing of sites, allocation and the traffic system and scenery system, providing a meaningful basis for the designing of shared outdoor space of residential areas; In the micro level, this study views the outdoor sports and recreational space itself as a subject, discusses the influence of the demand by residents of using the outdoor sports and recreational space on the designing of the space, offering practical advices for designing of the outdoor sports and recreational spaces to several projects.Practice– This study chooses cases typical in both spatial forms and qualities: new residential areas with tall residential buildings and old residential areas. It tried to improve the existing outdoor sports and recreational spaces through combining with the integrated design mentioned above. Also it attempts to consider the design according to the demand by the inhabitants, living up to the notion of linking theory with practice, making a further conclusion of integrated designing methods. |
