The epoxy resin concrete is a kind of engineering materials in polymer concrete, which has been used rapidly than others. The epoxy resin concrete has been applied in the architecture engineering, especially in reinforcing technology, it has good performance with high strength, larger bonder, small shrink and better chemical stabilization, etc. But it has some defects, such as large brittle and bad impact resistance, so its extensive application is restricted. Modified epoxy resin concrete refers to the epoxy resin-based material, mixing the right amount of curing agents, plasticizers, diluents and fillers, as adhesives, sand and stone as the aggregate, by mixing, molding, curing, then forming a kind of composite material, which if a kind of pure polymer concrete in polymer concrete. Epoxy resin concrete modified with high strength, good toughness, impact strength, good resistance to chemical corrosion, wear-resistant, water and antifreeze performance and non-metallic materials with metals and high bond strength, good electric insulation,improves the defects of epoxy resin concrete of tensile strength, tensile strain of small, small crack, other shortcomings of brittleness, and so on. Curable modified epoxy resin has a very strong to atmosphere, moisture, chemical media and bacterial. At present, the study of epoxy resin concrete is still in its initial stage, the aims of research and range are wide, epoxy resin concrete will have the prospect of wide application, particularly in the reinforcing structure because of its excellent performance.The article analyizes the factors which effects the polymer mortar's properties, and takes the method of adding cement, PP fiber, polyester fiber, steel fiber, polysulfide rubber and nano-SiO2 to modify epoxy resin concrete. It researches lots of mechanical performance of epoxy resin concrete according to the modified experiments, and studies the durability of epoxy resin concrete which contains acid-resistance alkaline-resistance and the loss of mass and strength.The paper researches the applications of high performance polymer concrete which is used to make the manhole cover instead of iron's. It takes the method of plastic analysis to research ultimate capability of manhole cover of high performance polymer concrete and obtains the formula of ultimate capability.It contrasts and analizes the values of theory and practice of epoxy resin concrete and has the conclutions that the manhole cover of epoxy resin concrete is the thinnest in all over the manhole cover and is the strongest capability in the same depth's manhole cover at the same time. The manhole cover of epoxy resin concrete is very potential that it can come true the stronger capability in use of the article's results. The manhole cover made by epoxy resin concrete modified, of which all technology value including flexural strength, impact strength, compress strength, stretch strength, elastic modulus, the ratio of water-absorbing, acid-resistant property, alkali-resistant property, heat resistance property and climate-resistant property etc.have reached the China National Standards of CJ/T211-2005.
