Plant landscape construction of eco-tourism village was investigated in this paper, in which Yingdong Village, Chongming County was used as an example. In reference to tourism landscape design, rural landscape design and ecological landscape design, under the background of eco-tourism village, new methods was applied to create strong participation and unique rural landscape, containing ecological radiation and enjoyable recreation function. In this study, literatures were collected and field surveys were carried out to sort out a large number of plant materials of the east coast. And finally 155 tree species appropriate for Yingdong village of Chongming County were selected. On this basis, Yingdong village as an example, analytic hierarchy process was used, combined with previous studies and expert advice to determine the target layers and index values, then a plant selection model was established. According to this model, the 155 tree species were evaluated and the tamarisk, oleander, Hibiscus, tallow and others were determined as main plant material for its leading advantages after assessment of growth adaptation, ecological effects, ornamental effect and economic effect.Community, as an ecological concept, had been widely considered in the configuration of plant landscape, but few studies on its application as the basic unit for design. In this paper, plant landscape design based on community unit was further studied on the base of plant selection. In this case study of Yindgdong Village in Chongming County, the space region was divided firstly according to protection effect, soil property and functional section separately. Then superposition calculation function of ARCGIS 9.0 was used to overlay the region into nine plant community units. The landscape of each unit was constructed in accordance with its characteristics, in order to form a natural rural landscape with ecological conservation function and aesthetic value. For coastal areas, the windbreak study is very important. As to Chongming village, the planning and establishment of windbreak forest around fish ponds around has a positive meaning to the protection of production. In previous studies, the planning of windbreak forests were made from a more emotional aspect and no quantitative concept was contained. In the paper, windbreak planning of Yingdong ponds in Chongming island have been studied by computaional fluid dynamics (CFD). The standard k-εturbulence model was applied to carry out the two-dimensional computational fluid dynamics simulation. The protective effects of windbreak forest were simulated and compared in a fixed width, with no leaf stage in three levels of forest height. The results showed that no leaf stage of Protection distance L50 was 85m, covering 65% of the fish ponds. While leaf stage can completely protect the fish pond, whose maximum wind speed within the protection zone only 29.6% of initial value. Saplings would require the cultivation period of 5 years, then the Protection distance L20 can cover fish ponds, L50 can reach about 35% of the fish ponds, the average wind speed reduced to 2.48m/s.In conclusion, standing on development objective of 'building a modern integrated ecological island' of Chongming island, following development points on the tourist resort, outdoor sports, modern sightseeing agriculture and modern office services industries, comprehensively reflecting general requirements of 'the Yangtze River Green entrance Island, the harmonious development between man and nature', the construction method of the eco-tourism village's plant landscape was discussed and a scientific reference for the entire east coast tourism containing green resources was provided in this study.
