The Research Of Rain Garden Planning Based On Climate Change

The past century, the climate change with the main features of the warming global has become an indisputable fact. Ecosystem degradation, biodiversity loss and natural disasters frequent occurrence have attracted the widely attention of global experts. Among them, the natural disasters have the most directly and rapidly affected on human survival and socio-economic development, it is the problems which must be solved quickly. The city's stormwater disaster is one of them.The Climate change has caused the acceleration of the global water cycle, which has brought the uneven distribution of precipitation; it will inevitably lead to the city's stormwater disaster. However, rapid urbanization, impervious area increasing and traditional drainage ideas have hampered the city's water cycle and made the city's infrastructure overwhelm. Thus, the city's stormwater disaster has occurred frequently, which caused a direct impact on people's live, and even life safety.Through analyzing and summarizing the current status of urban stormwater and use of domestic and foreign urban rainwater collection and storage, the paper brings up the idea of building a rain garden, which could be used to ease the city's rain and flood disasters. First, the paper analyzes the theoretical basis of rain garden, the theory of sustainable development, ecological design and green infrastructure. Second, it is discussed about type and structure of rain garden, the relationship between urban drainage systems and it, the role in the rain use planning. On this basis, the author does the research on the rain garden from the planning strategies and the application in the urban space. On the research of planning strategies, the paper puts forward the specific measures to guide the practice in location, size, identification, spatial organization and landscape; in the space application, the specific way is proposed depending on the characteristics of different urban space, and with pattern analysis, including the urban road space, public green space, commercial space and residential space.It is hoped that rain garden could provide a new idea and methods for responding to urban stormwater disaster caused by the climate change.
