With the social and economic development, highway and railway mileage grows rapidly in recent years, many of them have to pass through the tunnel. So fire safety issues are increasingly of concern for the world. Because of low oxygen content of air in the smoke, the ordinary internal combustion engine will be difficult to enter the fire scene. Therefore, a kind of electrical vehicle will be needed to carry firefighters and equipment for the rescue mission. In addition to special situations, this firefighting truck can also be used for general occasions. To meet the needs of different occasions, hybrid technique will be applied to the special requirements of the firefighting trucks. This text has presented the Parallel Hybrid System structure for firefighting truck and chosen some components including the diesel engines,AC induction motor and nickel-metal batteries on the basis of analyzing the different structural types and mixes of the existing hybrid vehicles. In addition, based on several conditions the firefighting truck to be used, the paper proposed a kind of fuzzy control strategy for the hybrid firefighting truck, and used the software ADVISOR, the simulation models of the powertrain have been set up. After analyzing the performance simulation results, the acceleration and climbing performance are constrainted to minimize the main components of powertrain and vehicle quality. By using the optimization program of ADVISOR optimized this power system. The simulation results of the hybrid firefighting truck show that the optimized powertrain performance of the hybrid firefighting truck met a certain electrical driving ability, but also achieved a level of firefighting fuctions, reaching the desired design goals.
