As China's social and economic development and people's living standards continue to improve,light truck because of its flexible and efficient features in the urban and rural logistics and transportation operations are widely used;but as the same with other fossil fuel vehicles,light truck is facing the problem of energy-saving and emission reduction,need to improve power output,reduce fuel consumption and reduce exhaust emissions through a variety of technical means.The development quality of the vehicle powertrain system directly affects the dynamic economy and emission performance of the vehicle.Powertrain system modeling simulation and matching optimization technology can accurately evaluate and match the vehicle performance in the key system selection and parameter adjustment phase of the early stage of vehicle development.It is a kind of high efficiency,low cost and widely used important technical means.This paper is based on a newly developed light truck project,GT-SUITE software system is used for modeling and simulation of powertrain and matching optimization work,including the research of vehicle exhaust fuel consumption regulations and test standards,vehicle running force state analysis,Vehicle and powertrain system modeling,based on the driving cycle conditions of the vehicle performance analysis and optimization of transmission speed ratio design.By comparing the simulation results with the actual test results,the error between the two ways satisfies the precision requirements of vehicle powertrain development and selection.The simulation results show that the variable cross-section turbocharger is an effective method to improve the performance of the turbocharged diesel engine under low operating conditions.Test load loading method,driving cycle conditions,transmission gear ratio and shift strategy on the vehicle fuel consumption will have a greater impact.Vehicle matching optimization aims to make the coordination of various vehicle systems,let the whole system to work as much as possible in the high-efficiency operating conditions.The main parameters of the vehicle and transmission system speed ratio on the sensitivity of fuel consumption emissions are different in the development of the vehicle needs to be sensitive to the high focus of the project.By setting the weight coefficient to construct the objective function to optimize the design of transmission ratio,it is possible to reasonably balance the performance indexes of the vehicle.The results show that the matching optimization design based on modeling and simulation is an effective technical means for vehicle performance development,but the improvement space is limited.For the future more stringent vehicle emissions and fuel consumption laws and regulations limits,need to achieve the target by vehicle and key system's continuous technological progress and overall optimization.
