Priority to the development of public transportation is the core to solve the problem of urban transportation has become a consensus, national policy and support the development of public transport priority. Despite national policy, increase investment in public transport, at the same time adopt measures to limit the car, but was not gate bus way itself to the door, the characteristics of the discontinuous and lack of bus service mode innovation factors, the influence of transportation service characteristics, such as public transport development is still weak, the car ownership is still growing rapidly.The paper topic selection in combination with the national natural science fund,"urban bicycle traffic transfer nodes transfer mechanism and optimization method research"(No.51068013), in the perspective of the chain of travel, study to walk, bike, bus rapid transit, cars and other transportation service characteristics in different trip chain mode. In the process of trip chain of travel, more travel is continuity and more travel purpose, the majority of the public transit requires change, in this case, all kinds of transportation service features can produce difference.Paper from the Angle of view of the trip chain, by adopting the combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods, analyzes the service characteristics of the mode in different modes of trip chain. First summed up the three typical trip chain mode:turning point axis type, L type chain point change points and1-shaped turning point chain points not a total, selection of the urban passenger transportation system of walking, bicycles, electric bicycle, bus, bus rapid transit, subway, taxi, private cars eight kinds of common mode of transportation to do matching research. Then analyzed the maximum travel distance and the relationship between maximum travel distance and the related influencing factors what is under the condition of maximum travel time. Finally under the condition of the travel distance to determine, based on the time value, the analysis of the whole chain of the different modes of transportation travel time, relative advantage, travel distance and speed of door to door service characteristics.Existing research on the ways of transportation are mostly based on one travel, most from the infrastructure and the features of the technical features of the transportation research mode, and ignore the features such as continuity and door to door transportation, few scholars from the Angle of the travel chain to analyze the different modes of transport in the chain of travel mode has the characteristics of service.
