High voltage transmission line is the artery of the power system,while the accident caused by conductor icing happens some times,causing huge economic loss and bad social influence. On-line monitoring of transmission line can monitor the conductor icing and the trend of the icing,which can reduce and avoid the happening of the electricity accident.Electronic sensor monitoring method and image monitoring method are the two main methods of on-line monitoring high voltage transmission line,but both of the two methods have the disadvantage of short power supply and susceptible to electromagnetic interference.Fiber grating sensor technology has such characteristics as anti-electromagnetic interference,wide measurement range,small transmission loss,high degree of accuracy and strong real-time.It is especially suitable for on-line monitoring conductor icing at the environment of high voltage,strong magnetic field.Based on the background of China Southern Power Grid’s project of light technology in passive circuit full process applied in the study of on-line monitoring device,this paper does the research of transmission line icing on-line monitoring system using optical fiber grating,it mainly includes the following aspects of work:(1)The sensors needed in the on-line monitoring system and the sensors’ installation positions are decided by researching the line ice monitoring model and analyzing the the tower using ANSYS.(2)FBG hair temperature&humidity sensor and FBG wind speed sensor are developed,and the fiber optic monitoring technology which is suitable for monitoring conductor icing is researched with the help of the excited FBG weighing sensor and FBG inclination sensor.(3)On-line monitoring system of the transmission lines icing is setted up,and the results of the monitoring system are analyzed.The contents researched in this paper has been used in an on-line monitoring system on the110kV transmission line from Xi Yamen transformer substation to Jing An transformer substation in Zhaotong City Yunnan province.The on-line monitoring system monitored the conductor icing accurately.
