Along with the growing shortage of traditional fossil fuel resources,such as coal,oil or natural gas,looking for the sustainable utilization of new energy bceomes the only way to solve the energy crisis.As a kind of new pollution-free energy,solar energy has been played more and more attention based on inexhaustible advantage.And solar trcaking system has become the focus of many experts and scholars to study in.However,traditional solar tracking system which costs too much,possesses low tracking accuracy,and needs to be periodically calibrated as required,can hardly enhance the performance of the solar energy transfer devices.After studying the principle of the solar tracking system at home and abroad.In this paper,solar two-axis tracking system based on ARM is designed.This controling method for sun tracking follows the movement trajectory of sun.Using ARM as the core contro chip,making tow-axis actuator as the executing agency,depending on the data of apparent declination from the solar table of the China astronomical almanac and current time,the calculated altitude angle and the azimuth angle will be transferred to deflection signal,with which the two-axis actuator will be drived to adjust the solar panels to face the sun.Using Qt as software development platform,the computer-user interface will be developed to display the operational parameters in LCD,including the solar altitude angle,the azimuth angle,and the current operation state of the actuators.The developed PC monitoring software can conveniently show the current position of the sun and the deflection process of the actuators for the staff.After debugging the hardware and software systemly,the research ideas,control method,hardware and software for this solar two-axis tracking system are feasible.The system has the advantages of simple structure,high precision and strong stability.
