Given the growing energy crisis and environmental degradation problems, solar photovoltaic power generation relied on its inexhaustible unique advantages, it obtained rapid development. However, compared with other renewable energy, because of the problems that the power generation efficiency is lower and it costs much money, photovoltaic power generation system also has its disadvantages, by means of the study of the two big problems, for photovoltaic industry, it will greatly accelerate the role of promotion. Therefore, how to improve the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation system that has become a hot research topic in the field of photovoltaic power generation.Firstly, this paper based on the maximum power point tracking of photovoltaic cells to promote efficiency of photovoltaic power generation system, it studied the traditional and intelligent maximum power point tracking algorithm, and joined the PID control, put forward a kind of MPPT algorithm based on fuzzy PID control, through the MATLAB simulation results shows that: when the light intensity changes, the photovoltaic power generation system runs stably, the curve is smooth, tracking precision is high, response time is fast, the control effect is obvious while using the algorithm.Secondly, according to the promotion of photovoltaic power generation system efficiency, we puts forward a way of all-weather automatic tracking the sun, the photoelectric tracking is used in combination with the sun trajectory tracking. The weather can be divided into three kinds, we use three tracking model and its corresponding respectively, we put forward the design idea and the realization method of the photoelectric tracking mode, ombined with the calculation method of the application of GPS technology and the sun trajectory tracking mode, and adopt this way to verify the feasibility of to track the sun.Finally, according to the proposed tracking method, we design a set of automatic tracking solar photovoltaic power generation system independently, it is a small pv power generation system, this system can be applied to mobile devices, it can track the sun all-weather automaticly, it can be efficient and stable operation. The whole system has two parts, the pv tracking system and photovoltaic(pv) power system. Among them, the hardware design includes: GPS detection module, photoelectric detection module, data acquisition module, computer control module, external clock module, charge and discharge controller, inverter, DC/DC converters, etc, the software design includes: the main program of the sun automatic tracking, trajectory tracking subprogram, photoelectric tracking subprogram. Connecting thetwo parts of equipment, we test the system, get relevant data comparing with fixed photovoltaic system. The experimental results shows that the power generation efficiency of the automatic tracking system increase nearly 37% compared with the fixed system, it proves that the tracking algorithm is effective to the efficiency promotion of photovoltaic power generation system.
