Development Of Handheld Terminal For Vehicle Management In Intelligent Transportation System

Intelligent Transportation System is an comprehensive system that effectively integrated advanced information technology, data communication technology, electronic sensor technology, control technology and computer technology and would be used in the whole ground traffic management system. Intelligent transportation system has real-time, accurate and efficient management advantages in large scale. Intelligent transportation consists of traffic data collection, data intelligence analysis, information release, communication among vehicles or between vehicle and data center and so on. No matter the vehicle and vehicles’user, or the road and the road traffic management can get the strong technical support through the intelligent transportation system. Under the circumstances that the dynamic and static traffic flow information is increasing, the acquisition and tracking for vehicle information, the accident site position and other information fail to meet the demand of intelligent traffic management system, in quantity and quality.In order to solve the problem that the information search and data acquisition is limited by live environment, we design vehicle management system for the staff, which is based on mobile terminal as the core. In full consideration to the use environment of the system, we establish simple, compatible of historical database and efficiency as based design principles, and follow the above design principles to construct the whole system. The manage system is deployed in a tertiary structure including the database server, Web Service server and embedded device, with bar code management system to support, and the system provide information display, real-time entry, data synchronization and bar code management function. The technology for terminal system development includes Windows Mobile system, data synchronization technology and bar code technology and so on, combined with detailed design of the server database and the bar code database.We creative introduced the mobile terminal and the bar code, and take them as a core of system management. Displaying data hierarchically to user through the terminal database operation, and packaging and splitting the real-time information intelligently, and play a key role that simplify user’s operation and reduce dependence for environment. Use data synchronization technology to solve the problems of asynchronous synchronization and data sharing, and ensure the consistency between the mobile terminal database and the server database. The whole system will provides technical support for the vehicle management process in intelligent transportation system, and will greatly strengthen the intelligent degree of the management process, so as to improve the working efficiency of the law enforcement personnel.
